Do you want your face to shine so brightly that it blinds unsuspecting passersby? Would you like your friends and family to mistake your glorious, radiant face for the sun? Well, you’ve come to the right place. I am going to share my secrets to healthy, dewy, glowing summer skin.
Step 1: Cleanse!
A clean face is the basis of a gorgeous glow. You can go ahead and use your normal cleanser but if you’re in the market for a new one, I recommend the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser. It’s gentle enough for sensitive skin but leaves you with a squeaky-clean feeling. I get mine from Nordstrom Rack for only $10.
Step 2: Tone!
Toning ain’t just for your tummy. When you use a toner, you are restoring your skin’s pH after washing it. I’m currently using Burt’s Bees Brightening Refining Tonic.
Step 3: Moisturize!
Perhaps the most important step to achieving that shine. Olivia Care’s 100% Rosehip Oil is the perfect lightweight oil with a host of skin benefits. Add 2-3 drops to your regular moisturizer.
Step 4: Protect!
SPF is your best friend. Not only does it protect your face from UV rays that cause your skin to age, you’re also combating sunspots, hyperpigmentation and of course, sunburn.
Step 4: Glow, baby. Glow!
Grab that highlighter fam, we’re going to town. Even though your skin is already glowing for the Gods, there’s no harm in assisting your glow with a little extra shimmer. I use my Glossier Haloscope in Topaz as a base. It blends seamlessly into the skin, especially since we used an oil to prep.
But let’s not stop there. Let’s layer those highlighters. I’m a firm believer in setting a cream product with a powder product, especially since I have oily skin. The Anatasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit is the only highlighting product that you will ever need. Pop a bit on top of your cream highlighter and voilà. You glow.
That is all my friends. Please drop your glow tips down in the comments, I love to learn new tricks. Stay hydrated!
